The Sun did well out of it, they even got a front page lead campaigning for the underdog. Sutton management looked like idiots but it didn’t effect their core support. Wayne will do OK too as you say, but the FA oh my goodness.

I tweeted at the time that I thought the FA PR person must have been locked in a cupboard. More likely of course is that they were recruited in the image of the ancient white men that make up the board of the FA. One can only guess at the state of English football if the Premier League had not emerged.
